we've got you covered
Duke of Tokyo is a karaoke and cocktail bar with venues in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam and Groningen. We serve premium cocktails, sakes, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks. You can make a reservation to sing in your own private karaoke room, or simply drop by for a drink or a dance in our Tokyo-inspired bar. We host DJ nights every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
You can find our opening hours on the contact page. Please note: opening hours vary per location.
To make a reservation, go to our website. Choose the location you want to visit, then the date, time and booth you want to reserve. Finally, confirm your reservation and pay directly online.
Yes. To prevent no-shows, advance payment is required when making your online booking.
Click the cancellation link in your confirmation email to cancel your reservation.
If you cancel your reservation more than 72 hours before the scheduled start time, you will receive a full refund minus a €5 administration fee. The money will be deposited into your bank account within a few days. Within 72 hours of your visit, cancellation is no longer possible and the full amount will be charged.
The prices of our karaoke booths differ depending on the day and time you visit, not on the number of people in your group. Each booth has a maximum number of people it can fit, but if you come with fewer people you still pay the full booth price.
When you rent a booth from us, a high-quality karaoke system with Bose speakers, two wireless microphones and a tablet for ordering drinks is included.
We offer more than 20,000 songs in many languages and genres, including pop, rock, hip-hop and R&B. Browse the full SUNVIG catalogue on their website. To request a song that is not in the catalogue, use the contact form at the bottom of the page. Please note that it can take several months for a requested song to be added, and that Duke of Tokyo has no control over the catalogue.
You can change your reservation to a different time slot or booth up to 72 hours before the start of your booking, provided the booth and/or time slot is still available. To change your reservation, email sing@dukeoftokyo.com.
Our karaoke booths are suitable for groups of up to 25 people. We have rooms in different sizes; all room sizes are listed on the booking page of the location you want to visit.
If no larger booths are available and you still want to bring extra people, we can usually arrange something for an additional fee. Email sing@dukeoftokyo.com in that case.
Yes. We ask all karaoke guests to leave a physical deposit at the reception for the duration of their singing session. This prevents groups from accidentally leaving without settling their drinks bill.
If your booth is not reserved after your time slot, you can continue singing for a fee. If the booth has been reserved, continuing is not possible. We are happy to check whether another booth is available.
Absolutely! We have a large bar where you can have a drink before and/or after your karaoke session. We have a DJ on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. You are also welcome to drop by for a drink or a dance even if you don't do karaoke.
No, outside food and drinks are not allowed in our bars and booths. Exceptions, such as a birthday cake, can be made — see the next question for details.
Yes, that is fine. Don't forget to bring your own plates and cutlery, and leave the booth clean after use. Please mention in the booking notes that you will be bringing a cake so we are aware.
We do not offer drink packages. Each karaoke booth is equipped with a tablet that you can use to order drinks. Our karaoke hosts will then bring your drinks straight to your booth.
Of course! Each booth has a tablet that you can use to order drinks. Our karaoke hosts will then bring your order to your booth so you can keep singing without interruption.
Absolutely! When making your online reservation you can already pick your drinks. We will set them out in your booth in advance. You can adjust your drinks order up to 12 hours before your session via the link in your confirmation email. You pay for the drinks on the day itself.
No, you do not need a reservation to drink or dance in our bar. However, we recommend arriving early because of our limited bar capacity.
Yes, that is not a problem. You are welcome to celebrate a birthday, a small party or just drinks with friends in our bar. In good weather we also seat guests on our terraces (depending on the location). Email day, time and number of guests to sing@dukeoftokyo.com and we will review the options together. Tables are held for a maximum of 15 minutes after the start time; the latest possible start time for a table reservation is 8:00 PM.
Food is served at our Rotterdam location — in Izakaya DUKI and in the booths. We do not serve food in Amsterdam or Utrecht, but feel free to ask us for recommendations nearby.
You can view our drinks menu on our website. We offer a variety of unique house cocktails, classic cocktails, sakes, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks. Let our enthusiastic bartender team know what you like and they will help you choose the right cocktail, or even mix something special to your taste.
If you are under 16 and want to reserve a booth, at least one parent or guardian (18+) must be present for supervision. We recommend choosing a time slot earlier in the day, such as Saturday or Sunday afternoon — later in the day the bar gets busier and alcohol is in circulation. Between the ages of 16 and 18 parental supervision is optional. Alcohol may not be served to anyone under 18; in a group with both underage and adult members, the entire group cannot order alcohol in the booth.
Rotterdam: fully wheelchair accessible (guests can use the building's elevator and the wheelchair-accessible toilets).
Amsterdam & Utrecht: all wheelchair sizes can reach the bar; we have a ramp with a load capacity of 270 kg for the entrance step. There are no wheelchair-accessible toilets, however. In Utrecht the tunnel to our entrance descends slightly — on departure our staff will assist you back up.
Karaoke rooms: depending on the size of your wheelchair, some of our smaller rooms may feel tight if you come with the full group capacity. Call us with any questions and we'll do our best to make your visit as smooth as possible.
No, we do not have a specific dress code. Wear something you feel comfortable in and that is suitable for a night out.
Unfortunately not. The only way to reserve a karaoke booth is via our booking system on the website.
Large groups or other questions? Let us know, there is a lot possible.
